At ICSSR-North Western Regional Centre (ICSSR-NWRC), we are committed to boost excellence in social science. Our mission is to create a dynamic academic environment that encourages scholars, researchers, and students to engage in impactful studies that contribute to society.

Aims & Objectives
- To act as a representative of the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi for the promotion of Social Science research and information centre for disseminating and implementing the programmes and the activities of the ICSSR to the social scientists in the region.
- To serve the requirements of the social science community of the region covering the Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh-Ladakh, and Chandigarh.
- To organize or assist the seminars/workshops/conferences/lectures in the region.
- To provide Study Grants for visiting library/institution for research work.
- To supervise and coordinate the research projects/fellowships sanctioned by the ICSSR in the region.
- To guide social science scholars about the various activities and facilities available at ICSSR.
- To organize and assist the university concerning research programmes and activities.
- To arrange visits of eminent social scientists to the Centre where they deliver lectures and hold discussions and seminars.
- To award Short Duration Minor Projects within the North Western Region.
- To maintain a data library.
- Any other activity which the ICSSR may entrust to the Regional Centres.
